I thought I saw a pixie
Wading in the stream
I pinched myself to be sure
It wasn’t just a dream
I crept forward on my tippy-toes
And wondered what I’d see
He bowed his head, took off his hat
And placed it in a tree
But before I could get too close
The pixie tumbled in
He got back up with a shout
Then he began to grin
I thought he may have seen my face
But hoped it wasn’t true
He smiled, he laughed, he jumped back in
And swam in water blue
Then pixies came from here abouts
Drawn by all the noise
The girls had fun squealing loud
And chasing all the boys
The revelry had now begun
It lasted into the night
They danced under the clear full moon
Which shone on them with might
Oh what a joy it was to watch
The pixies laugh and sing
The wonderment that they found
In each and every thing
I’m glad I saw a pixie
Wading in the stream
Now I know and I am sure
They are more than just a dream.
